Before I started writing comics, my passion was photography.
I started photography in earnest while living in Kyrgyzstan as a Peace Corps volunteer. My work began to take on a documentary style with a focus on portrait and portraiture work.
Comics and graphic novels incorporate my background as a playwright and photographer. As a comic book writer, my scripts not only include the dialog, but also describe each panel in detail for the illustrator to follow. As a photographer, I wasn’t taking pictures but making pictures. And as a comic book writer, I’m still making pictures.
